| MIKE ANDERSON | |
|
Mike Anderson plays a custom 6-string bass guitar and sings harmony vocals with Broken Trail. Mike brings his relaxed personality and solid grooves to the music. His sense of humor and passion for good country music is a key part of the band's success. Mike is a veteran on the Northwest music scene, logging over 3000 live performances with many different popular bands over the years. Born in Renton, WA, he credits seeing The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show as a turning point in his life. "Before that show was over I had combed my hair over my eyes. I wanted to be Paul", he says. After a few high school bands, Mike began playing Top-40 rock and roll as a teenager in the Seattle/Bellevue area. A fill-in job with a country band in 1986 changed his musical direction. "Local country band 'Horizon' asked me to play until they could find a permanent bass player", Mike says. "I played one set and I was hooked. The country crowd was so much fun! I told those guys that they would have to fire me because I wasn't leaving. Luckily, they didn't, and I’ve been playing country music ever since." Throughout his career, Mike has shared the stage with notable hit-makers such as David Frizell, Michael Martin Murphy, and Jerry Reed. Mark Medalen says “he’s a great bass player and a great person. He has a good sense of humor, so we laugh a lot, and that’s important in this band.” Broken Trail is currently in the studio working on their first CD of original music. Written, arranged, and performed by the band, the full-length disc is being co-produced by Broken Trail and Rickie Ray Heinzman. Look for it on iTunes and at all Trail shows in Fall 2008. Mike stays busy during the week as a self employed carpenter. When not playing music, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
